It remains a luxury even today to afford a space in one's own mind to commute between reality and fantasy without having to pay too dearly for the consequences. We are a curious species indeed if one stops to consider how hard we struggle to survive when the certainty of death is absolute.

The initial impression placed upon the work here would dictate figurative subject matter being the primary focus. Personal in a traditional sense, the painter's interest betrays any singular theme, the recurrent fascination lying within the structure and handling of the paint itself as light, colour, composition and atmosphere remain the backbone to essentially what may be interpreted as an exercise for the imagination. Flexible and comfortable with a variety of mediums such as oils, acrylics, aquarels, and chalks, his palette weaves layer upon layer of loose spontaneous strokes onto the surface, establishing a depth of texture and colour. Having said that, the digital world presents a new and invigorating venue in his cornucopia of tools for a genre of hybrid anomalies. Although the human anatomy manifests itself as prevalent subject matter, the brush plays the leading role rather than the image itself. The visual extravaganza is merely a given arbitrary springboard for a realm of diverse feelings and unfamiliar places stimulated through unabashed inventiveness. A search for form out of inane chaos.
